Move over the OnePlus 3T, the OnePlus 4 is almost here. Or at least that is the impression you will get from the buzz right now. OnePlus, which has seen its popularity rise significantly after the stupendous success of the OnePlus 3, will most likely launch the OnePlus 4 around June or July in 2017. Although nothing has been officially confirmed,  rumours hint that the OnePlus 4 will come with a 2K resolution and Snapdragon 830 processor, which would be much faster than the Snapdragon 821 or the Snapdragon 820 that many high-end phones, including the OnePlus 3, use right now.
Until now OnePlus hasn't used QHD aka 1440P, or in other words, 2K display in its phone. OnePlus 1, OnePlus 2 and the OnePlus 3, all have a screen with the 1080P resolution. But now with the QHD screens becoming common in mainstream phones -- the LeEco Le Max 2, for example has a 1440P screen -- it is very much possible that OnePlus too will move a higher resolution display
As far the Snapdragon 830 is concerned, not much is known about it for now. Although it is almost certain that the new Qualcomm processor will use the tweaked Kryo cores, which power the Snapdragon 821 and the Snapdragon 820. It will also use 10nm manufacturing process, which may help Qualcomm improve the speed and performance of the Snapdragon 830.
Rest of the core hardware in the OnePlus 3 is likely to be similar to the OnePlus 3. The phone will possibly have the same amount of 6GB RAM and similar storage of 64GB. Although the camera may get a makeover. It is possible that just like other high-end phones, most notably the iPhone 7 Plus, the OnePlus 4 may also come with dual-camera setup, with one camera using an image sensor that has larger pixels. This could be the IMX 378, an image sensor that has also been used in the Google Pixel phones and the Xiaomi Mi 5S.
In terms of software, it is almost certain that the OnePlus 4 will use Android Nougat, although OnePlus will modify it lightly and call the new user interface Oxygen OS, similar to how it is for the OnePlus 3.
Overall, details are still very sketchy for the OnePlus 4. But one thing is certain that with it OnePlus may have another winner on its hand. After all, the company has decided to make only one phone per year.
A few months ago, the company co-founderCarl Pei had told IndiaToday : " "We will only focus on one flagship product in a year and for now there is no plan for any other category. This is the best chance we have to create a great phone, especially for a small team. Smartphone market is very crowded so we have to create a product that cuts through the clutter. The only way for us to do that is to focus on it and obsess about its details. That doesn't leave much room another phone."
