Kabadi meet to be held every year in Haryana:CM


Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today announced that the All-India National Style Kabaddi Championship will be organised every year in the state to commemorate Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya. Khattar was unveiling the trophy of Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Memorial All-India National Style Kabaddi Championship-2017 to be held at Moti Lal Nehru Sports School Rai, Sonipat, from February 9 to 11, 2017.

He also unveiled the trophy for the first and second runners-up of the championship. The CM said the championship would be organised every year from February 9 to 11 at different places in the state to observe the death anniversary of Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyaya on February 11.

He said 12 best kabaddi teams of the country would participate in the championship. While the winning team would get a cash prize of Rs 1 crore, the first and second runners-up would get Rs 50 lakh and 25 lakh, respectively, he said.
