Gurugram's civic body is likely to invite bids from private firms
that can offer advanced solutions for dysfunctional or damaged traffic
lights across the city.
According to reports, the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG) is likely to float tenders in next two months to invite bids from companies that can help run the 250 traffic lights and over 400 tubewells on the latest technology.
As per the plan, a civic body official said that, an automated SMS will be sent to an engineer and the joint commissioner once a traffic signal encounters a problem or breaks down. The message will also be circulated in WhatsApp group so that the traffic police and officials of the civic body can coordinate better.
The MCG is putting this plan in place to ease the masive traffic snarls that are caused as a result of dysfunctional traffic signals.
Reports also suggest that the proposed project also aims to boost the water resources of Gurugran and address the problem of crisis.
