New Delhi: In order to weed out fake 'gau rakshaks', Haryana has come up with a new plan.
The Haryana Cow Commission on Wednesday decided to issue identity cards to genuine cow protectors.
There are a few criminals posing as cow protectors,"Haryana Cow Commission chief and RSS idealogue Baani Ram Mangla said, according to a report in TOI.
Noteworthy, PM Modi said that majority of 'gau rakshaks' are anti-social elements who have proclaimed themselves protectors of cows to cover up their misdeeds.
Earlier, in April, Haryana Police had busted a gang of alleged fake cow protector. The fake protectors charged a fee of Rs 8,000 per vehicle from traders engaged in the transportation of cows and other animals in Hisar district.
