In
order to keep a tab on alleged beef consumption, officials in Haryana
collected samples of biryani from stalls and vendors from Mundaka
village in Muslim dominated district of Mewat. The lab report of the samples is likely to come by today evening.
The samples, collected jointly by police and animal husbandry
department, were sent for testing to a lab at Hisar’s Haryana
Agricultural University, says a report in Hindustan Times.
As Muslim festival of Bakra-Eid or Eidul-Adha approached next week, officials say more samples would be collected from areas like Mundaka, Ghasera, and Ferozpur Jhirka during that period.
The report says that Cow Protection Task Force (CPTF) will deploy more informers in areas where there is suspicion of high beef consumption.
