The samples, collected jointly by police and animal husbandry department, were sent for testing to a lab at Hisar’s Haryana Agricultural University, says a report in Hindustan Times.

Last week, the Haryana government issued orders to collect Biryani samples to check alleged beef consumption in Biryani at shops and markets in the area.

As Muslim festival of Bakra-Eid or Eidul-Adha approached next week, officials say more samples would be collected from areas like Mundaka, Ghasera, and Ferozpur Jhirka during that period.

The report says that Cow Protection Task Force (CPTF) will deploy more informers in areas where there is suspicion of high beef consumption.
