Dadri will be Haryana's 22nd district. This was announced by the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, while addressing a well attended Vikas Rally organized at Dadri in Bhiwani district, on Sunday.
The announcement to accord the status of district to Dadri, the biggest sub-division in the state, was greeted with thunderous applause. The process will soon be set in motion to make Dadri a district which would help speed up the development and growth of the area, the Chief Minister said.
Amidst repeated bouts of applause, Manohar Lal said that developmental projects worth Rs 112 crore had already been completed in the Dadri Assembly segment during the two-year tenure of the present government. In addition, he had also inaugurated nine development projects worth Rs 45 crore for the people of Dadri today.
He recalled that Dadri was treated as a district in 1992 when he looked after the affairs of RSS in this area. "After taking reigns of the administration, it is a matter of great pleasure for me to declare Dadri as the 22nd district of Haryana in keeping with the demand and aspirations of the people. It is difficult to understand when the previous parties in power created Panchkula, Yamunanagar and Palwal districts, why they did not make Dadri a district," he asked.
The Minister of State for Public Health Engineering, Dr Banwari Lal, MP Mr Dharambir Singh, MLAs Mr Sukhbir Mandhi, Mr Bishambar Balmiki, Mr Ghanshyam Saraf and BJP leader Mr Sombir Sangwan also spoke on this occasion. A number of senior leaders and workers of BJP and officers of the district administration were also present.
