Haryana Govt decided to use Biometric Attendance System for Ration distribution

Haryana Government has decided to make the public distribution system (PDS) Aadhaar-based to ensure corruption-free and inject transparency in the distribution of ration.

Those with registered ration card will be able to get ration only after marking biometric attendance, said Chief Minister Manohar Lal, at a public meeting at Hasanpur in Palwal district on Sunday.

He also announced a slew of projects and incentives worth Rs 150 crore and said that he would write a letter to the UP Government asking it to provide water for the fields of farmers of Hasanpur area.

On the occasion, he also invited all those present for the swarna jayanti celebrations function to be held in Gurgaon on November 1.

The State Government will celebrate the golden jubilee year from November 1, 2016 to October 31, 2017 in a big way. Following the ideology of ‘Sarv Haryana-Parv Haryana-Garv Haryana’, there would be mass participation of people in the celebrations, said he.

The Chief Minister said that the State Government would complete two years on October 26, and focus would be laid on stepping up performance in the third year. A number of welfare schemes and policies would be introduced this year which also happens to be the birth centenary year of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay. The Central Government plans to celebrate this year by working for the welfare of the poor, he added.
The State Government is actively working to provide employment opportunities to everyone. Since the Happening Haryana Summit held in Gurgaon, about 450 MoUs have been signed involving investment of more than Rs 6 lakh crore. With their implementation, about two lakh people would get jobs, said he.
He added, "We have told the investors that if they provide jobs to the people of the state, they would get rebate in license fee, relaxation in electricity bills, and assistance in giving salaries."

Lashing out at the opposition parties which raised question marks on his experience, the Chief Minister said, “You have your experience, I have mine. You have experience in corruption and I have experience in serving the people. (Tumhe Tumhara Anubhav, Hamein Hamara Anubhav. Tumhe Anubhav Bhrastachar ka aur Hamein Anubhav Sewa Ka).”

Referring to Spectrum, CLU and coal scams, he said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had taken the resolve “Na Khaunga-Na Khane Dunga”. Toeing the path shown by him, the State Government too has introduced e-Registration, Aadhaar-enabled services and checking of ration cards to rid the entire system of graft or any wrong-doing, added he.

The Chief Minister announced setting up of a girls college in Hasanpur, Rs 22 crore for the construction of new building of the college in Hodel, Rs 10 crore for the Centre of Excellence of Horticulture in Hodel among other projects.
