The MDU authorities have suspended the teaching work in the university as well as its affiliated colleges situated in Rohtak city from January 11 to 16.
The decision to suspend the teaching work has been taken in view of the 21st National Youth Festival-2017 here from January 12 to 16.
It may be pertinent to mention here that more than 5,000 participants are likely to attend the five-day event. Meanwhile, Haryana Sports Minister Anil Vij visited Rohtak today to review the arrangements being made for the youth festival.
The preparations are already on for the mega event , with the MDU campus as well as the surrounding parts of the Rohtak town being given a facelift .
Curiously, the ‘Save-Energy and ‘Promote-LED’ drives of the Central as well as state governments notwithstanding, chains of normal electric bulbs have been put up to “enlighten” the university campus. The local police authorities have also made elaborate security arrangements for the youth festival.
