Yogeshwar Dutt got engaged to Sheetal Sharma on Saturday and like all Indian grooms he will be taking a dowry but it is not a huge amount. He has asked his father-in-law to give him a token amount of Rs.1 as 'Shagun'.
Yogeshwar Dutt is not done making India proud with an Olympic Medal. The man is back in news and this time it is related to his wedding. He is getting married to Sheetal Sharma, daughter of Haryana Congress leader; Jai Bhagwan Sharma. They got engaged on Saturday, and the guy has been making news since then.
Rs.1 as Shagun
Reportedly, he has said that he grew up with two dreams, one of making the country proud and two, never to accept dowry because he had seen his own family struggle with it for his sisters. He now wishes that his father and his Guru were alive to watch him fulfill both his promises.
At his wedding today, the proud Olympian is accepting Rs.1 as 'Shagun' from his wife's family and that will be it. His mother, Sushila Devi has confirmed the same.
Now, that's some good news for a country where the amount of money a girl's parents can pay decides the kind of life partner she will end up with. Thank you, Yogeshwar Dutt for setting a bright and clear example for the youth of the nation. Saying that we are proud of you will be an under statement.
