All India Jat Arakshan Sangarsh Samiti (AIJASS), which is spearheading the pro-quota Jat stir, said it will hold a 'Bhaichara' rally in Rohtak tomorrow to decide about the next phase of agitation.
AIJASS has charged the BJP-led government of "failing" to fulfill its demands.
In view of the rally, additional police has been deployed in Rohtak to ensure thatthe event passes off smoothly, a police official said.
"We will hold a Bhaichara rally tomorrow in which several Khaps and people belonging to other castes have been invited to decide about the agitation," AIJASS President Yashpal Malik said today.
He said they will discuss why the state government is not accepting their demands and how to go about agitation.
BJP MP from Kurukshetra Raj Kumar Saini, who has been in the dock in the past over his alleged anti-Jat rants, was also scheduled to hold a public meeting in Rohtak tomorrow, but he decided to postpone it by a day.
"That meeting has been postponed by a day," he said.
AIJASS, which had called off its agitation in the month of June, had given time till August 31 to the state government to resolve its issues.
Among major demands, Jats are demanding release of "innocent youths" arrested during February stir, adequate compensation and job to next of kin of those who lost their lives in the recent stir, sincere efforts by state government to get the stay vacated on Jat reservation in Punjab and Haryana High Court and withdrawal of cases against protesters during current phase of agitation.
Yashpal Malik alleged the state government of adopting lackadaisical approach in getting the stay vacated on Jat reservation from the High Court.
Notably, Haryana government had given 10 per cent quota to Jats and five other castes in government jobs and educational institutions in the state by creating Backward Class 'C' category following protests in February this year.
However, the quota was stayed in May this year by Punjab and Haryana High Court after a petition was filed challenging the reservation.
Malik also expressed dissatisfaction for state government not taking any decision on the issue of releasing "innocent youths" arrested during February stir and adequate compensation to next kin of those who lost their lives.
