Addressing a gathering here, the chief minister said that after opening women’s police stations in the state, steps were now being taken to increase the strength of women in the police.

He also appealed the people to join hands with the government in its drive against female foeticide to improve the sex ratio in the state. “Due to strict implementation of PCPNDT Act during the past one year, the sex ratio in Haryana has improved from 837 to 900. However, more efforts are required to improve it further,” he added.

VILLAGE INTEGRATED MONITORING SYSTEM
Khattar also launched the web-based ‘Village Integrated Monitoring System’ (VIMS), which will help the officials and villagers to monitor development works in the district.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that this facility will check corruption, accelerate the pace of development works, build capacity and ensure transparency. In case of laxity, the officer concerned will be answerable and if found guilty, legal action will be initiated against him.

Besides, the system will provide information such as how much fund has been drawn from which bank for a particular development work, he added.
