10 Things You’ll Understand If You Have A Haryanavi Friend

“Ke kara se bhootni ke”, “bhai ke baat se Ghana angrej se”, “Ghana bhawripoonch” .. well you’ll surely relate to these phrases if you have had a haryanavi friend once in your life, and if you haven’t had one then you’re surely missing a lot of fun guys.
Anyways, initially we all found their language and everything weird, but then with the passing of time, we accept that yeh toh “Bhai ka swag hai”. They qualify all criteria to be your 2 AM friend, your perfect eating partner(but there’s a twist there that I’ll discuss when you scroll the page further down).

So let’s talk about things that you’ll understand only if you have a Haryanavi friend.

1)The way they speak, their accent is really unique in itself. The best part is that they add their local language even in English and Hindi. It sometimes even becomes tough to understand what they are saying but with the more time you spend with them you just fall in love with their accent and actually start using it yourself.

2)They have a “seedha funda” according to them, khao piyo aish karo bhaad mein jaaye duniyadaari. They are your perfect eating partner but they are addicted to dhoodhdahi, ghee, makhaanmalai, etc. They are so hatta khatta because of that.

3)They treat everyone equally. Everyone is their “tau”, “chacha” or “bhai”.

4)They have surely done PhD in bunking classes and doing “masti”. Kyunki “baap ke pass ghani property se”.

5)They hardly care about traffic signals and the police. They are the “risk – takers” after all “apna tau se Thane mein”.

6)Being hatta khatta, makes them really good in sports after all they are not junk foodies like us. May it be kushtikabbadi, they are every ready to play these games (and as a matter of fact the Olympics entries from India for these sports are usually haryanavi)

7)Unka apna hi ek style hai.. woh kya bolte hai usse “bhai ka swag hai”. They love showing of their Bolero, open jeeps, Jaguar, bullets(in simple words their obsession with vehicles). Coming to their dressing sense, they love wearing their shades and posing pictures with it and they usually wear tight fitted t-shirts of odd colors.

8)They love getting into fights, even when it’s at 2AM in the night. Doston ke liye kisiki bhi haddi thod Sakte hai woh bas kehne ki der hai baaki Bhai sambhal legal.

9)Jaat ke taat, hookah aur kaat”.. consuming “deshi daaru” and smoking “deshi hookah” is something they love a lot. They love partying in the clubs and dancing to those peppy haryanavi songs like “jail karwegi re chori, jail karwegi”. But one caution is that “after having whiskey, they become more risky”.

10)And the last point is the most important point. “Sirf Jaat”, they are so proud of their identity. They believe that giving abuses and slangs “humari khoon mein se”. The way they use to the slangs and abuses are so much fun to hear.
