Haryana police will make the people more aware through SMS

In a bid to ensure better coordination between police and the people of the State, Haryana Government has decided to send public awareness messages to the people through SMS.

A co-ordination meeting in this regard was held with the nodal officers of Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) operating in Haryana, Punjab and Delhi Telecom Service Areas under Inspector General of Police/CID, Anil Kumar Rao.

Assuring full support to this drive, the telecom service providers agreed to immediately send to the people SMSs regarding any information forwarded to them by CID authorities. It has also decided that Commissioners of Police and district Superintendents of Police would forward their SMSs in urgent situation to CID, which would work as nodal agency. CID would forward such SMSs to telecom service providers after getting them vetted. During the meeting, Anil Kumar Rao said that this would result in faster communication of information to the people, who would be able to immediately provide to the police any information regarding any incident.

The telecom service providers also assured that they would make efforts to ensure that SIM cards were not issued on the basis of fake documents in their particular area of jurisdiction.
